NCFRMI NEWS - Yobe state launches IDP new policy.

The Honorable Federal Commissioner for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons, Hon. Tijjani Aliyu Ahmed attended the official launching of Yobe State policy on Internally Displaced Persons hosted by His Excellency, Hon. Mai Mala Buni, the Executive Governor of Yobe State.

The Commissioner appreciated and applauded the Governor for this relevant stride as the policy itself falls within the framework of the NCFRMI as it outlines strategic objectives in providing protection, ensuring essential access to essential services, and fostering durable solutions for Persons of Concern.

The policy which happens to be the first of its kind to be presented by a state in Nigeria also highlights the commitment of the state in upholding the rights of all displaced individuals particularly women, children and other vulnerable groups, ensuring their inclusion and participation in decision making processes.

The Commissioner assured the Yobe State Government of his commitment and willingness to work hand in hand with the state in providing durable solutions for PoC’s in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The launch which held at the Shehu Yar'adua Center, Abuja had in attendance representatives of The World Bank, Members of the Nigerian Legislature, Members of Yobe State Government, North-East Development Commission l, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and numerous international donors and partners.
